Support your rising 4th grader with a confident start to the year ahead. This 5 or 10-session virtual tutoring program previews the most important math concepts introduced in 4th grade. Students explore multi-digit operations, fractions, geometry, and decimals through hands-on instruction, visual strategies, and real-world problem solving guided by a certified educator.
What We’ll Learn – Session-by-Session
Session 1: Place Value and Rounding – Extend place value to the millions and round numbers using charts and number lines.
Session 2: Multi-Digit Addition and Subtraction – Solve real-world problems with regrouping and standard algorithms.
Session 3: Metric Measurement and Unit Conversions – Convert units of length, mass, and volume using visuals and word problems.
Session 4: Multi-Digit Multiplication Strategies – Multiply using area models, partial products, and standard algorithm.
Session 5: Intro to Long Division – Understand long division with base-ten models and repeated subtraction.
Session 6: Fractions on Number Lines and Equivalence – Represent, compare, and reason about fractions visually.
Session 7: Adding and Subtracting Fractions – Solve problems using decomposing and finding like denominators.
Session 8: Geometry – Angles and Shapes – Identify, classify, and measure angles and 2D shapes.
Session 9: Decimals and Financial Literacy – Explore tenths/hundredths and basic money concepts.
Session 10: Data, Graphs, and Mixed Numbers – Analyze data, interpret graphs, and apply measurement reasoning.
