Give your rising 3rd grader a confident head start. This 5 or 10-session virtual tutoring program previews the most important math concepts introduced in 3rd grade. Students build fluency in multiplication, explore fractions on the number line, strengthen place value understanding, and apply math to real-world problem solving—all in a fun, engaging format guided by a certified educator.
What We’ll Learn – Session-by-Session
Session 1: Intro to Multiplication and Division – Use equal groups, skip counting, and number lines with hands-on models.
Session 2: Word Problems with Multiplication and Division – Apply strategies using units of 2, 5, and 10 with visuals and expressions.
Session 3: Place Value and Rounding – Explore place value to the thousands and practice rounding with number lines.
Session 4: Adding and Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers – Use standard algorithms within 1,000 and solve measurement problems.
Session 5: Multiplication with Higher Units – Build fluency with units of 6–9 and multiples of 10 using visual strategies.
Session 6: Area and Arrays – Measure area with square units, build arrays, and apply arithmetic properties.
Session 7: Fractions on the Number Line – Represent simple fractions and compare them using number lines.
Session 8: Comparing and Equivalent Fractions – Explore size and equivalence with visual models and fraction bars.
Session 9: Geometry and Perimeter – Classify shapes and calculate perimeter with word problem practice.
Session 10: Financial Literacy and Graphing – Analyze bar and picture graphs and explore money choices and saving.
