Session 2: Plot Structure | Identify main events, conflict, and resolution in stories.
Session 3: Themes and Lessons | Discuss the theme of a story and connect it to personal experiences.
Session 4: Informational Text Features | Recognize central ideas, supporting evidence, and key text/graphic features.
Session 5: Making Inferences | Use story clues and background knowledge to make inferences and predictions.
Session 6: Poetry and Language | Identify rhyme, repetition, and structures in poetry, and discuss figurative language.
Session 7: Comparing Text Types | Explore elements of drama, folktales, and fairy tales, noting similarities and differences.
Session 8: Author’s Purpose and Point of View | Identify why an author wrote a text and whether it’s in first or third person.
Session 9: Writing Skills | Plan and draft an informational or opinion piece with a clear chronological structure.
Session 10: Integrated Practice | Read literary and informational texts, respond with evidence, and complete a final writing piece.
